2023 signings
Jarrad Kay has joined our coaching staff and playing group for 2023.Jarrad started playing senior football in 2009 with Old Mentonians and will be joining us from OMFC after a couple stints in the SFNL over his journey. Having found a new home in recent years as a defender, he looks forward to applying his trade at his new home the Highett FNC.
Working alongside Clint coaching at St. Kilda’s Next Gen Academy this year, he jumped at the opportunity to work with Clint at Senior level as he starts to shift his focus to coaching after playing in the foreseeable future.
Having previously coached U17s junior football and working as a strength and conditioning coach the past 8 years and recently a local business owner, The Sixth Principle gym.
Jarrad has a keen interest in everything on and off field that goes into further enhancing the growth and development of a local football club.
Welcome to Highett FNC Jarrad!
Highett FNC is excited to announce the commitment from Matt Van Schajik for season 2023.
Not a total stranger to Highett, Matt played with Heatherton as a goal kicking midfielder before moving to Mid Gippsland side Trafalgar 6 years ago.
At Trafalgar Matt built quite a resume, he was best on ground in their premiership in 2018, he was named in the Mid Gippsland team of the year twice, named in Trafalgar’s team of the decade and even won the Anzac medal for being best on in their Anzac clash this year.
Matt has a burst of speed, loves to go forward and kick bags and has worked hard on his contested game so expect to see him play as inside mid next year.
Welcome Matt!
Highett FNC is excited to announce the commitment of Stuart Harris for 2023.
We are absolutely stoked to secure this young key defender who will be causing havoc off the back flank with his ability to intercept and his strong running.
After 60+ senior games at Old Mentonians and a top 5 best and fairest finish in 2022 we look forward to watching him slot into our back 6.
Welcome Stuart!
Another exciting signing down at the kennel ahead of season 2023.
We welcome Lucas Haig or as the people call him ‘Ox’. Providing another key target in our forward 50.
A dangerous forward who is lethal on the lead and crafty at ground level. Has been a proven goal kicker in Premier C over the years playing for Old Mentonians in the VAFA.
With over 50 senior games of experience under his belt. We look forward to watching him add to that tally in the red, white and blue.
Highett FNC is excited to announce the commitment of Adrian Pappas.
Adrian played at Thomastown from 2015-17. He was a premiership player in 2016 had a few years off then returned to play at Dromana then ruptured his achilles.
Adrian is a silky left footer who can give the ball a roost. Expect to see Adrian playing up forward this year.
He is also very very keen to pull on the Bulldog jumper.
Welcome Adrian!
We’re thrilled to announce Tom McCarthy will be joining us for season 2023.
An extremely talented and classy tall midfielder, who can run all day and damage teams by hitting the scoreboard from anywhere. Tom will provide another weapon to our core midfield group.
Joining us from Old Mentonians after a Best & Fairest winning season in 2022.
We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do in the red white and blue
How good is this.. another signing at the kennel for season 2023.
Jordan McGillivray joins us bringing along his versatility as a run all day type flanker/wing with huge hands and a good aerial presence.
After he broke into the senior side at Old Mentonians late in 2021, there was no looking back as he strung together 25 senior games in a row.
After a late growth spurt, we’re excited to see this young man reach his potential in the red white and blue.
Jack Roberts joins us from OMFC. A young forward with tremendous upside who has the ability to flash and can turn a game in minutes with his strong aerial presence and goal kicking ability.
Leading the goal kicking for the reserves at Old Mentone this past season at the age of 19, we look forward to watching Jack grow as a footballer and push for senior selection in 2023 for the red, white and blue.
Zac Morgan is another exciting young local player to join our ranks.
Zac is a lovely kick of the ball and hits the score board regularly.
Having shown plenty of promise this past season at OMFC he was rewarded with best first year player in their reserves team.
Zac was also called upon to play senior football in 2022 and we are excited at the prospect of him adding to his senior games tally in the years to come with the bulldogs.
We welcome Henry Menzel to the kennel who has come over from Old Mentonians.
A tough utility with a nice leg and footy smarts who can be damaging on his day.
Henry has impressed early in pre season with his fitness.
We are looking forward to seeing what he can do in the bulldog jumper.
Highett FNC welcomes Cameron Harris.
Cam (brother of gun recruit Stu) is a young key back with a heap of potential. Cam likes to take a big grab and push up the ground when he’s got the chance. We’re rapt at the prospects of pairing the Harris brothers in our backline.
Highett FNC welcomes Jeramie Simmons
Jeramie returns to footy after a few years off. With a large contingent of the Chelt Park Cricketers joining our ranks, Jezza followed suit and is keen to show off his sharp skills and hit the scoreboard for us next year.
Highett FNC welcomes back Kiril Melanyin to the kennel. Kiril, a Highett junior, has spent time at Cheltenham Rosellas and Old Mentonians.
Kiril has great skills and goes hard at the ball. Expect to see him finding the footy on the inside and outside.
Kiril has a great personality and isn’t short on confidence. We’re rapt to have him apart of the club.
Highett FNC is thrilled to announce that Dino Karamoshos has joined the club.
Dino, a highly talented running wingman, played in the VFL for Port Melbourne before joining Old Haileybury in the VAFA in 2021 and then back to his junior club St Paul’s this year. He also participated in the AFL Victoria’s young guns series for young aspiring AFL players in 2019.
Dino has impressed us at training with his elite skills, his fitness and the leadership he has shown. Dino is a massive coup for the club. He has fit in perfectly with our group and we believe Dino will call Highett home for a long time.
Welcome Dino!
